A Cabinet of Curiosities...

I recently opened a new Etsy shop. I am dedicating this shop to vintage botanical and animal illustrations...and art made from these images.

I am in awe of the work of Ernst Haeckel. Here is a detail of his Animal Print of Amphoridea. My mind is boggled at the potential for translating these images to what ever medium that I am working in. If I were into fashion and the bridal industry the amphoridea at top left would have to be incorporated as lace and pearls into a bridal cap and veil...or maybe the head dress of an Ice Princess?

Blows me away that these are sketches of living organisims. You will have to visit the shop to see just what I am talking about.

I wanted to thank Elsie at for featuring one of my prints and bringing attention to the new shop. I will send one free digital image to anyone who blogs about these jawdropping images at my Just let me know about the blog and the image you choose for your time and effort to help me promote the shop.
